Species Description
Mountain sandstone forms compact cushions 10-15 cm high. The shoots are thin, rising, shortly hairy and brownish. The leaves are lanceolate, 1 cm long, dark green and soft. From May to August, large, white flowers of about 2 cm in diameter appear, set 2-3 just above the leaves. A valuable plant, in terms of flowers, should be an attraction of every rock garden or flower bed. It plays the role of a ground cover plant fantastically. It also looks charming in containers. It grows well in soils with a neutral or slightly alkaline pH, moderately fertile, permeable and moderately moist. Requires sunny locations.

Opis Gatunku
Piaskowiec górski tworzy zwarte poduszki wysokości 10-15 cm. Pędy ma cienkie, podnoszące się, krótko owłosione i brązowawe. Liście lancetowate, długości 1 cm, ciemnozielone i miękkie. Od maja do sierpnia pojawiają się duże, białe kwiaty średnicy ok. 2 cm, osadzone po 2-3 tuż ponad liśćmi. Cenna roślina, pod względem kwiatów winna być atrakcją każdego ogrodu skalnego lub rabaty. Fantastycznie spełnia rolę rośliny okrywowej. Urokliwie wygląda również w pojemnikach. Dobrze rośnie na glebach o odczynie obojętnym lub lekko zasadowym, przeciętnie żyznych, przepuszczalnych i umiarkowanie wilgotnych. Wymaga stanowisk słonecznych.
